Muktinath is the most famous temple as well as important pilgrimage site for both Buddhist and Hindu. Muktinath lies in Lower Mustang, so we can say it Mustang tour as well. There is white painted wall complex, as entrance gate is Tibetan style linked by prayer wheels. In this compound, main point is 108 sacred brass water spouts. The number 108 is sacred number in both religious. And another interesting thing is the Goddess of fire, in local language known as “Jwalamai”, it is a monastery. Inside the building, holy and nature gas flame behind a grill just above running water, which is holy water as well, pours through a cow’s mouth spewing out.

If you have flexible time,you can hike to Jhong where villages and monasteries on the north bank of Jhong khola/stream. It is a traditionally part of Mustang. And until several years before to visit this side was limited, it is permitted to visit the Chorming village of Jhang.

It is yours choice to how to start the tour, first you can drive all the way to Muktinath by local buses or private vehicle then fly back from Jomsom to Pokhara. And second option is flying to Jomsom then drive round trip.  In this tour, drive along the Kaligandaki and seen the mountains view either during fly or drive as well touch yours heart by Upper Mustang landscape.  It is rough/grabble rod not black top road

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1Drive from Kathmandu to pokhara

Drive to Pokhara from your pickup destination (200km, approximately 7hr drive by Jeep). We will see good scenery of countryside while driving. Lunch at Muglin. We will arrive in the late afternoon at Pokhara around 2PM. Non-Veg Dinner at Pokhara and enjoy the night life.

Day 2Drive from Pokhara to Marpha

Breakfast at hotel and we will drive to Marpha. Before drive to Marpha, we will visit the Bindabashani temple and take the blessing. After this, we will and drive to Kusma Bridge; tallest and highest suspension bridge. On the way we also visit the Baglung Kalika temple a popular Bhagwati temple of Nepal. After, 30 KM drive we will reached to Tatopani. Lunch at Dana. And Overnight stay at Marpha.

Day 3Drive to Muktinath from Marpha and back to Lete

Healthy Breakfast at Hotel and early morning visit to Marpha village (2,650 meters). After sightseeing, we will drive to Jomsom at altitude of 2700 m in Mustang District. With the flow of Kali Gandaki River, we will drive to Kagbeni. From Kagbei straight drive to Muktinath Darshan. After, Darshan at this holy temple, back to Kagbeni for Lunch. After Lunch, trek to Dhumba Lake (By jeep 15min drive). Finally after this long day, we will relax and overnight stay at Lete.

Day 4drive from Lete to Pokhara Stay OverNight at Pokhata

Breakfast at Hotel and Lete and sightseeing at Lete as this place is scenic and surrounded by Dhawalagiri, Annapurna and Nilgiri peaks. From Lete we will drive to Pokhara with good music. We will reach to Pokhara around 4PM. Refresh at hotel and visit around Pokhara and enjoy the night life there.

Day 5Drive from Pokhara and Drive to Kathmandu.

From Pokhara leave early morning to Kathmandu. It takes same hours that take from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
